You Know What To Do

Some phrases in the English language are absolutely pregnent with meaning and this is one of them. The FBI alledgedly told Martin Luther King "You know what you need to do" when the implication was that he should commit suicide. One has the feeling Sean Brady just "Figured out what he had to do" to atone for his tormented contience. Only time will tell. "You know what to do" should have been the 42nd. song on an EMI beatles album. As you know there is the "black out square" on the "Hard Days Night" album and people want to know what it means. The song should have been a song already in first draft by George but apparently they "ran out of time" and couldn't spare the few hours it would have taken to polish the song so they didn't use it. Those into numerology and cybernetics know that the number 42 is one zero one zero one zero. One and one and one makes three. Do you know what the actual 42nd. Beatles song is? "No Reply". Some people when told by a priest or Dr. Laura or Jesus Christ "You know what you need to do" give by way of response "No Reply". I can't say as if I blame them in a lot of cases. Today that blind priest talking to Sheridan on "Passions" was chastrizing her for "Impure motives". But it's my guess that if the "impure motives" card were played on the Catholic Church it would be doomed literally from the moment it was conceived (note the double meaning) and the original scriptures were compiled. You know Jesus Christ said something interesting last Sunday. He said, "There IS no such thing as Spiritual Goodness". I was going to call this file, "Did you really mean that?" People say things they don't mean because they want to win an argument. It it believed by many on Judgement Day that we will all "Know what to do", that we will all know instantly "where we stand" with eternity. (Selah)

I wonder if George Bush "Knows what he needs to do" right now. He must be wrestling with the idea of whether to end the Iraq War or not like everyone is telling him to, or else to persevere on his own. I have this dark suspicion that our President "Hears the Voices" but they aren't the ones that lead tword a rational decision. All these Republican congressmen and senators are turning against their president. Another rejected choice of blog title was "Time IS an Object" because so many Christians say "Time is no object". Time is always an object as long as we live here on planet earth, and for most rational scientists, that is "All There Is". It would seem that time is clicking down on our troops because they are saying that this Surge can't be pursued past April of next year and at that time troops will have to be withdrawn. If this is so you can expect our president to be forced to withdraw kicking and screaming all the way like Lucas Roberts in the middle of coitus. I guess the question is what does it take to get the President off? He's lived this whole eight years of the adminestration for the propigation of corporation profit and oil revenues. It seems that if we left Iraq could use their oil resources, which are under utelized, to build up the infra-structure of their nation. There is a no confidence vote scheduled for the Meliki adminestration later this week, and if that happens, our cause in Iraq really be in shambles. You know today is a dubious sixth month anniversary. (another rejected title) If you will remember after the disasterous election the President told us that he had plans to make a major speech just before Christmas of 2006. But this date kept getting delayed and it was finally delivered apparently on January tenth 2007. This is when "The Surge" was announced, and we were informed it would take four to six months and then we'd know. But none of the "bench marks" we set for the Meliki government of Iraq have been met. This is the report being given to congress. So if the surge is a total failure we don't have to wait for Gen. Petrayas to give his September evaluation in two months. We already know the score. People have been saying that August was going to be a really bad month. Why don't we end all the future sorrow before it happens? I guess that Gravell guy said "Besides all the lives we've already sacrificed, just think of the lives that are Going to be sacrificed if we don't act to end the war now?" Is it too big of an abstract concept to think of Future consequences of our actions?

I've been getting vibes lately that somehow all this "Congressional Investigation" stuff is all going to go away. It's like watching a soap opera or a series you're really fermiliar with and no matter what is happening in the plot-line to this point, you know the ways of the Author and because you know the Author you can infer certain impossabilities that are virtually certain to happen ahead of time. I guess it's a case of Murphy's law, "What ever can go wrong (or right, depending which side you're on) will go wrong (or right). Sometimes you don't know HOW something will happen, only THAT it will happen. If there is one Great Truth I have figured out it's that we are no longer in the Watergate era and this is not the mid 1970's. We don't know what "Event" will come along to take our minds entirely off these investigations. You're the President of the United States with a lot of power. What would you do? The Annie Wilks in me likes things to make sense. I like to see continuity of history. But sometimes history comes in Jerks and not in a rational flow. (double meaning again) Sometimes in a soap opera things look like good will come and the bad guys will be caught and put away and good will prosper. But it doesn't happen that way. Some JERK intervenes into history and uproots things. I'm telling you this now so that when it comes you won't be surprised. If the democrats had had any balls President Bush would have been Impeached by now and on trial for his reputation in the Senate". We are told of all the back room deals made in 1999 or so, "If Bush ever became President". I guess we have to ask what back-room deals are being made right Now?

Well, the Boeing 787 is rolling off the assembly line. The plastic plane, which as Thom Hartman points out, was made all over the world. Everywhere except in Seattle. If you tape it it sounds like plastic. It gets twenty percent better fuel efficiency but is stronger and more durable than aluminum and doesn't corode like aluminum does. It seems to me a couple good blows with a hammer would do it in. Well, we all wish Boeing aircraft the best and hope it works out.

Thom Hartman clarified his oppinion on the Fairness Doctrine, since Stacy Taylor said he didn't agree with the Fairness Doctrine. It seems that other things like the purpose of a Corporation in the US is more important. It used to be law that the first artical of incorporation had to be "To Serve the Public Good". Now the first article is "To make big proffits". I must say the former requirement will certainly make for a more moral society. The trouble is Christians associate morality with sex, AND NOTHING ELSE. And TV networks used to have a separate News division that's separate from their sales and entertainment divisions. Therefore a news story could not be corrupted by pressure from a sponsor. The station manager could just say "You can't interfere with the News, that's the Law". No more. Reagen changed all that and what Reagan didn't abolish by way of FCC regulations, Clinton accompolished in 1996. When you scratch President Clinton, his liberal credentials are rather thin. I guess Michael Moore got in a shouting match with Wolfiwitz or something over at C N N. Liberals need a propagandist like Michael Moore to counterballance the onslaught of "Info-tainment" we get from the Conservative media. I'll support any Presidential candidate that will correct these wrongs.

Of course they're saying that President Bush should give up those E mails involving the firing of prosecutors. Also the President is believed to be involved in "Cageing". Let's just review what this is. It's disenfranchizing voters, mostly democrats. They get a notice in the mail saying to return some form to the registrar of voters, and if they don't they are taken off the voting lists even though they may be either students away at college or else troops fighting over in Iraq. I think we start to nail down specific criminal impeachable acts the President and Vice President have done. Of course the phrase "Executive Privelege" does not appear in the Constitution. The opperative word there is "Privelege". It isn't a "right" but a courtessy extended by congress to the executive branch. Larry Elder and Hannity and others say we need executive privelege or else "Frank and honist communication in the oval office would be styfled". And yet the President doesn't mind his people talking, just as long as it's not under oath and on the public record. The Supreme Court in 1974 with Nixon said executive privelege wouldn't hold if a criminal act were suspected of taking place. That should end the debate. I should end this blog pretty soon, but first I want to include some of the foregoing stuff:

Today is the sixtieth anniversary of the Roswell UFO landing incident, and tourists gathered there this weekend. The way I hear it it all revolves around some fabric that was found that was silvery and of amazing tensil strength and you couldn’t cut it or burn it, and it was nothing like anybody had in 1947. Of course Christians disbelieve in any Space Alien civilizations altogether and disbelieve as an article of their Faith. After all scripture says Christ died for the sins of this world, and this world only.

There is more violence in Iraq with bombing attacks where they aren’t used to having them. And now there is a no confidence vote scheduled against Melicki by parliament next week. Let’s pray to God they don’t succeed or we’ll be in Iraq till the end of the next decade. Things are chaotic enough as they are.

Congress is planning to investigate the Bush pardon of Scudder Libby last week but my guess is they’ll chicken out. I wouldn’t put it past the President that some National Emergency is going to be “scheduled” for sometime this month to knock this investigation off the tracks. Who wants to place a bet?

This government was going to schedule a major raid into Pakistan to try and rout out the number two man in Pakistan but we don’t want to risk bad relations with their government. It’s another shaky contingency we have to worry about.

Bottled water is now considered not ecological and now the “finest restaurants” no longer offer bottled water. When you think about it the idea of drinking bottled water is an absurd ecological hypocrisy. There’s all the plastic that goes into land fills but there’s also the oil consumed in ships to bring the water over from France to begin with and also the petroleum products involved in manufacturing the plastic.

They said this will be New York’s first heat wave since last August. The northeast has consistently been cooler than the rest of the nation.

We need a question in that “Pyramid” game show, “Things that mysteriously disappear”. Like Nicole Walker. She was on the “Days” soap opera for years and the last we heard she was competing with Samantha for Austin’s affections. She was trying to be his girlfriend and win his love and I think she was sent out on some assignment or something- - and was never heard from again. Then we have Richi Cunningham’s older brother, Chuck. He went out to play basketball and was never heard from again. He just “slipped away quietly in the night”. Then we had last night’s crab salad. It was on the menu, but we didn’t have it. This morning I ran into a real “trifecta” of disappointment on the radio stations on computer. WBFX and KCFX, two “fox” stations from Grand Rappids and Kansas City, respectably, don’t come in now, along with KUPD near Phoenix, Arizona. You get those annoying “file missing” indicators you never got before. The same thing happened with KHTS or whatever from St. Louis, Missouri. Then we have a couple of Bob Dylan albums, “A Fool Such as I” and I believe the Ronaldo and Clara soundtrack. These were not listed in an official list of Bob Dylan albums. Are you saying I imagined them? And then we have the Rev. O. L. Jaggers. His messages were flooding the air waves and he claimed he had “conquered the fources of aging and death”, along with his wife, the lovely Miss Velma. Then he vanished from the air waves. There was no news of his death, not that that would stop anybody. A lot of people remember the proposed Huntington Beach Freeway. They had four routs proposed. Although to be fair I did hear news that was officially canceled. There is that tape of my grandmother around Thanksgiving 1964 and there is a passage “Oh, I was going to tell you what happened today when I went to pick up my groceries”. She never got around to saying and I never heard the story. That’s one thing I’m going to ask her in heaven. Then there is the “Get Back” album that origionally was going to feature the cover of “The blue album” with the Beatles looking over that balcony. Then there is the Zodiac Killer. Was he myth or reality? Never caught. Then there is candidate for Vice President, Thomas Eagelton. What ever happened to him? Then there’s the inheritance my mother was going to receive from her older cousin, as the only surviving most immediate relative. News of that disappeared. Then we have Fred Thompson’s run for the Presidency. He seems to have disappeared off the radar screen after boldly saying he was going to announce in early July. I think the Guiliani people must have gotten to him saying “the fix was in” already.

Back in the mid seventies there were roomers that the next Catholic Pope to be chosen would be a liberal or at least a radical departure from the usual because the composition of the denomination was changing. Well, we’re still waiting for that moderate-to-liberal pope. Women haven’t fared too well in the disappearance routing. How many remember the Equal Rights Amendment? Then there’s the Susan B. Anthony dollar and the more recent Sacageui dollar. Now they’re saying they’re going to stop minting pennies because of the price of copper, but I remember the same story running in 1974 and it still hasn’t happened yet. There seems to be some sort of conspiracy against women in terms of coinage. What about episodes seven, eight, and nine of the Star Wars series? We’ve been waiting thirty years but for some reason they never got around to doing these. There are roomers that a key figure, perhaps Harry Potter himself, is going to die in the final Harry Potter story. There was talk about some new laser beam system for TV’s with way superior color. Some TVs get shown for years in these electronics shows but never get produced. Remember when they said that nuclear electric power would be so cheap they wouldn’t evem meter it because it was so plentiful?

The thing is, we can expect a lot of other traits of our government and rights to be a fading memory. Even if a Democrat gets elected next year I predict no aspects of the Patriot Act will be repealed. Even if a Democrat is elected none of the NAFTA treaties will be undone. Corporations have too much power and are in love with the status quo. Even if a democrat gets elected don't expect the global warming situation to improve much, if at all. This whole world wide concert business on seven continents is causing more polution and "carbon footprint" than it's solving. The only thing I think will happen is taxes on the rich will be increased because there is so gosh darn much money out there to be taxed that the rich have and we aren't getting. Expect civil rights to be increasingly trampled upon. This also includes Fascisum of the left in the case of Hillary becomming president. Except law suits over things like sexual harrassment to increase or suits against free expression of Religion. Someone said government jamming of cell phone frequencies was illegal. Here is an area where the government may bow to corporations and allow them to jam frequencies to enfource their rules. In terms of all the Bush securety paranoid, don't expect any of that to change under either Hillary or Giuliani. In fact securety could become more of an issue as Al Qaida seeks to test the new government like they did in Britain.

As you know here in California those nutrition laws for school kids took effect July first so there is no selling of soda pop or other junk food. The cell phone laws here take place next July first where it is illegal to drive holding a cell phone. Under any new President, the immigration problem will only be solved by making it worse. Expect either Hillary of Giuliani to allow MORE immigrants accross the border than are coming now. Except the slave working class to increase even under a democrat. Hillary is not a democrat on economic issues. You can pretty much expect the economy to fall apart under Hillary and she won't care; she'll just blame Bush and think she's solved something.

In terms of the War in Iraq this won't be near the issue people think it will be next year. In the first place talk of Impeachment will become a thing of the past. You won't hear about it any more either for Chaney or Bush. Expect to hear less and less of any of these investigative committes of congress. You'll about forget any of them exist because nothing will be said. It will be just another of those disappearing acts. Expect President Bush to be so stealthful in bringing the troops home that nobody makes it an issue in the campaign next year. If anybody tries to raise it as in issue they will be accused of "wallowing in the past" and "taking time away from the democratic agenda". Of course things are and will be a total disaster when we leave, but they won't get any worse. They're already as bad as they can get. Giuliani could still win next year by "playing the securety card". As to Fred Thompson, I don't think he's running or he would have gotten in the race by now. I think he knows he can't win against Hillary but Rudy can.

And that's the way it is on this July 7th. 2007

Photo Test

This is a test of the emergency broadcast system to see if we can download a photo. It takes a long time to do that. I guess I'll go ahead and publish this since they're waiting for me

Boredom Interrupted

Basically what we get on the media are the same predictable reruns. Even the science programs on KCET are reruns. Of course there's a movie set in ancient times where some Egyptian high official says "We are the posessors of all knowledge. We have an almost painful awareness that we posess the totality of all there is to be known". Jesus Christ of KFI made the statement last week that the reason we know there aren't people living on other planets with technology more advanced than we've got is that "Well, Misouri is far away. You don't think people in Misouri are smarter than you, do you? Therefore there IS no such thing as space ships with advanced technology that travel faster than light. It's a romantic, sexy notion, but that's all it is". On KCET there seems to be an appeal to reactionary science. They compared human body weight to some spring that gets stretched or contracted but basically snaps back into the same old position. Therefore human weight falls within a "confort zone". You may go high in the zone or low in the zone but you will never escape it. In another segment of the "quadrilogy" they had the notion that nature created elements numbered one through ninety-two but man wasn't able to get much further. He got to about element 103 (Laurencium) and kind of got stuck. This is because the nuclius of an atom can only hold so many charged protons. But element 114 is called a magic number, and if you could get to 114 by combining Plutonium with Calcium, then you'd have a nuclius that was quite stable. Well they tried that and didn't quite succeed. Some of the things you hear now you've heard decades before. I had a Sunday school teacher back in high school that said that in a decade or two Earth would get struck by an asteroid. Now they are saying an asteroid is headed our way in the year 2027 and it will come ten times closser than the moon. But then if it passes through the "key hole", a patch of space, the asteroid will return in the year 2036 and finish Planet Earth off. Apparently our computers aren't smart enough to figure it more exactly. If you are bored with TV and the radio there's a nice little scripture in 2nd. Peter that should serve as a palliative for all the unwashed masses out there. People condemn Ron Hubbard because he's both a science researcher and a science fiction writer. And yet on KCET they referred to such people as "whole brained" people. They use the research left half of their brains and the creative right half of their brains. And indeed you have to be a bit "creative" to do good research to come up with a theory nobody else has thought of. But of course Christians say that they are the possessors of the sum total of all knowledge.

O Bama's financial report has come in for the second quarter and O Bama now leads Hillary by an impressive lead in money raising, 31 million to 23 million or something. According to the media it won't translate in votes. Even though the polls like at Iowa don't look that impressive for Hillary the media persists on telling us she's the anointed one. Of course they say the same thing about Giuliani on the Republican side. Mayor Viragosa has been caught having an affair with a Mexican reporter and people like Larry Elder say how horrible it is. Viragosa, affair doesn't bother me. I'm more bothered by Rudy's three wives and how Pat Robertson has endourced Giuliani for President. I guess Giuliani is the new guardian of the moral right or something and as such is someone to be looked to for guidance. No, thank you. Then we have the way the media has gone after John Edwards. KTLK 1150 has pointed this out. Edwards is the choice of the left and yet it doesn't show up in the polls. You have people like Anne Coulter launching her sick attack on Edwards and the best the ABC network can do is to give Anne Coulter more air time and to attack Edwards from "profiting monitarily from Coulter's attacks". If that isn't a sick bit of backward logic I don't know what is. Edwards and his wife and family are the victims of Coulter's smears and the media blaims Edwards for it. The chances of Al Gore entering the race are growing slimmer with each passing day. Fred Thompson said he was going to get in the race in early July but so far I haven't heard any announcement. Whether Giuliani is the nominee of the Republican party will depend on the decision Thompson makes. I think he'll make a lot of people in the right wing nut crowd happy and as a target he'll be easier to mount a campaign against than Giuliani would be.

Personally I think we're all sick of this Cry Wolf terror tactict. I'm thinking what some bright group should do is just plant suspicious packages one after the other all within a given area and drive the officials nuts tracking them down and going nuts. Some terror group is going to think of this as a decoy before the real attack. I think we're all sick of the service we are getting at the airports. They say flight cancelations are up 91% and that delays of over 45 minutes are up 65% and the securety measures get more cumbersome all the time. And the people put up with it. No airline would call themselves "The only way to fly" today. Flying used to be a rare treat you'd pamper yourself with. No more. They charge you for a bag of peanuts and that's your dinner. And no smoking allowed. Now the media machine is saying that Al Qaida is planning a "Terrorism spactacular" for later this summer. I think these Al Qaida people have been watching too much US TV. They wouldn't dare try another 9 - 11 or anything remotely like it because within minutes all the perpitrators would be shot dead, along with all the innocent people would lose their lives in Islamic lands because of the subsequent war our president would declaire. Obviously life would become intollarable for American citizens were there to be another 9 - 11. People talk about the date 7 - 07 - 07 but we at the Z A C have been talking about the date 10 - 10 -10 as one to watch for, if you can remember that long.

Bullying is a horrible thing. The chronicle of man's brutality to his fellow man is a shameful one for people on planet earth. On the Montell Williams show they had a fourteen year old boy who came home from football practice because he was mistreated by the other boys. His mother told him to go back and continue the next day. The boy's brains were beaten out and his head was rammed through a wall or something. For a while he was so brain damaged he couldn't count to five. He developed amnesia. But on top of that this was one of those rare "brain damaged" situations where something was destroyed in the brain that controls morality, and the young boy himself became a brutalizer of others. Those responsable for the original crime were never prosecuted. In my Word document I say that "The great Pevericator" as a call him, would just throw up his hands because the worse things become the more excuses he makes not only for himself but for the oppressors. I think Dennis Prager and I would agree that someone who tollerates or even in some ways encourages bullying of others, is an Evil person. We have used the term "The Great Pavericator" for an individual I know in my life. But there is also man's cruelty tword women. In India those women who are widdows are shummed as though they were untouchables or something. They shave their heads in life long mourning and are not allowed by society to remary. Dr. Laura must love it. Of course there is cruelty to fellow women like the way young teenage girls are treated in nunnaries in Ireland, that amounts to cruelty and child molestation. Our impulse should be when we see an injustice taking place to move to quickly correct it. But Montell's message was watered down later in that show when he equated to the beating that 14 year old kid got, to someone saying to someone else, "You know- that person acts a little Gay doesn't he?" Sometimes you insult the important by ad-mixing it in with the unimportant and trivial and calling it all the same. This is what Christians do. They have no such distinction as degrees of Evil. To them it's either all or nothing at all. One might say "If everything is a sin- - then in reality- - Nothing is a sin". (Selah)

We all know what George Bush did yesterday. He commuted the sentense of Scudder Libby. This act has been thoroughly discussed on the Stacy Taylor show on 1150 at noon yesterday. The event has been likened to a Mafia fall guy who goes to prison to be rewarded at a later date. The only thing is Libby never went to prison. The Courts refused to delay implementation of his sentense and the only way to keep him out of jail was for President Bush to act right then. This will make a great campaign issue for the democrats. It's one I wouldn't let anybody forget. Bush wouldn't commute any of those death sentenses in Texas even though some cases were of a nature that they should be reviewed. Bush knows which side his bread is buttered on. He's playing to his constituency even though Bush has sunk to a new all time low of 27% popularity. I don't see why any Republican would want to have anything to do with him. The President might not even be allowed to speak at the convention next year. Of course it sends a message that political vendettas are in force and that CIA agents and our secrets are not safe but at any time can be exploited for political purposes. Obviously Bush and Dick Chaney should be impeached. Pat Lahey is debating whether to cite Bush for contempt of congress for failure to turn over E mails involving the firing of those eight prosecutors. People are saying that the only thing conceivable that would Save the Bush presidency is another 9 - 11 attack. Obviously George Bush does not believe in the rule of law or that law breakers should face the consequences. People on the Stacy Taylor show have said Bush has never had to face the consequences for anything his entire life. I don't see how Bush's image could get any lower.

Here is the next rock compilation. We're putting two songs out of alphabetical order. On the "Missing Links" album we had "Fearless" and "Evil" out of order. On "Links" there is an unannounced surprise we- - never typed in. "Mercedes Benz" by Janis Joplin comes right after "Mama Told Me" on side two, after that weird note. Then comes "Midnight Train" kicking off the next side. On the song we dropped, the Byrds did a cover version of it. "Please Go Home" was inadvertantly ommitted the first draft so we're cutting another song to include it.

There was one more song on the roster when we sorted alphabetically but I didn’t like the way it ended the album so I just dropped it. I was going to call this album “Dylan, Rolling Stones & The Who” but this album kind of turned into one of the most loosely assorted list since “Missing Links”. Like that compilation I kind of let popularity on the radio sway me to a degree. Of course the “Rat” theme is a little topical at this point. Like I say, who associated good cooking with rats? The term “analog chatter” refers to all the noise and other stuff you get with analog that is all filtered out with digital. If a digital signal doesn’t match the code, it doesn’t show up in the reproduction. I have ideas about the rest of the blog but. . .
