Five More easy Pieces
"Forget it! We'll do it Live" to quote Michael Savage. No notes. Yesterday congress tried in vain to disgrace President Obama by voting to hold Att Gen Holder in contempt of congress, for their phoney trumped up charges. But clearly they didn't know Obama's great victory on the Health Care issue would ecclipse all other news stories this day. My own feelings is that I have no dog in this fight because I don't believe my insurance situation will change regardless. I'm FOR anything that will HELP Obama get reelected, or more to the point, to keep Mitt Romney from getting elected. If there were ANOTHER way to keep Romney from getting elected I'd do that. I understand the Affordable Care Act is still not polling well. Many people in certain insurance brackets will see their rates go up, perhaps markedly. Doctors aren't crazy about all the new regulations of how they are supposed to treat patients. And most of all this measure is a jobs killed because small business owners will have to fork out the money up front to pay for all the health insurance for their new employees. I don't see why this one part of the law couldn't be waved in light of these dire economic times. If I were President Obama I'd do anything I legally could to goose up this economy one way or another. Whether that means waving fees or this Health Care requirement, or else suspending a regulation or two, assuming the health and safety of society is not adversely impacted.
In terms of public affairs announcements- - we have a few. Don't drink bottled water. Drink tap water because it contains more minerals and things to increase alkalinity in the mouth and various florides and other substances, calcium, tin, iron, may build up the teeth to make them more resistent to decay. If you have an autistic child take him to an environmentally friendly theater that lowers the volume of the sound, skips the endless advertisements and trailers, and doesn't lower the lights all the way, so as to minimize the "sensory shock" that may besiege these people. It could be a place where perhaps they are surrounded by loved ones, who aren't as offended should they talk out loud during the showing of the feature. With fire drills- - like we discussed this afternoon- - make sure you don't block enterences and exits or parking areas where fire trucks may be parked. Change up the rout planning on different contingencies and get people used to the whole concept of never going the same way twice, because in a real fire you might not have the option. If you're a woman, use things like hat pins and keys and other items with sharp points. Take some sort of physical defense class to know how to use your body as a fighting weapon and develop attack strategies and reflexes. Don't be a target with too many bags and things and if an intruder strikes, drop these immediately. It seems that if fah graw is off our diets because of various regulations going into effect over the weekend. If possible, try and confine your drinking to either coffee tea or milk- - - or at least a nutritious natural fruit juice and stay away from sugary soda pop, which increases acidity in the mouth and invites decay and unnecessarily raises blood sugar, unless your blood sugar is already low from lack of eating or working hard or whatever- - then your body does indeed need and expect the energy input Try and not use the remote control all the time in your hands but place it accross the room where you have to get up and get it each time you want to change the station. This will give you a Little- - - Exercise.
Anthropology and socialogy differ in that socialology is the domain of the mathematician and the statistition and deals with things like sta-nines and probabilities of things occurring, and sufficient sample size for the ammount of "margin of error" that you will tollerate. Sociology is about figuring out what is Wrong with Society, and then coming up with a plan- - - devising ways to "fix the problems" you have isolated. Sociology is a vehical for results testing and isolating variables. Anthropology on the other hand talks about how the society- - and it need not be a Human society, it could be Apes or big cats, or pecking orders of chickens. An anthropologist is interested in communacation and linguistics, which is almost a category unto itself. It's about societal morays and hirearchal structures and chains of authority and enforced conformity. It's a descriptive and not a pre-scriptive science. This is cultural anthropology- - but if you add in biology as your enphasis rather than psychology, you have things such as diet, and climate, and physical build, bone structure, reserve fat, any group racial anomally, and mating habits. To my way of thinking the biological aspects of anthropology are the more fascenating- - but either or both branches are well worth pursuing. Women are oppressed by various means. As Thom Hartman has pointed out many times- - the more women are empowered the more the birth level drops to a sustainable level. If you have things like arranged marriage, or forced marriage, perhaps in a polygamus situation, or incest involvements or appealings of a woman's fears of "bringing shame upon her family" then women will never get ahead.
I was watching a local television station last night. Spells and Incantations fall roughly into four, or perhaps five major categories as I see it. You need to isolate each form of incantation or curse so you know what you are dealing with. The most common type of incantation is the protection spell. The image here is one of the Black Hole and "sequestered space" just like a sequestered jury. It's "magic circles". It's space of your own where others can't get to you and if they try their own pit will be moved to where they Think you are and they themselves will fall into it- - much as some Bible verse talks about. Their own curse will be proportional to what they intended against you. Then we have what I call emnity or separation spells. Here is the image of gene splicing or "getting others to do and say your will" like splicing in your own warped ideas and having Their body "accept them" as part of their Own gene structure so they don't know what they "decide to do" is not really their idea. Here you plant seeds of separation against beat friends to break them up so they will not be there for the other one and strengthen each other in times of crisis but instead will be at emnity with each other. The third type of incantation is the reitteration curse. It's like that one "Time Warp" thing in Next Generation where you do the same thing over and over and don't know you're doing it. The image here is clearly the snagged vinyl record stuck in a grove. It's the computer itteration loop with no "safe words". It's based on the Bible verse of "The curse without a cause will not come". So it's finding a spark of sin in someone else's life and fanning it and perpetuating it and bringing the same Curse on an individual over and over, following them around whereever they go or whoever they meet- - like a pesky rain cloud. The fourth type of spell is the healing or resurrection spell. Here the image is the directing of energy like a magnifying glass on to a single point where the subject may bask in their glow- - and gain restoritive Energy. There is a fifth type of curse that's obviously the reverse of this of the Voodu curse where you will sickness and perhaps death on an enemy due to a failing of the body. Whether this is it's own category or subdivision of the foregoing category I'll leave up to you.
Finally I'd again like to refer to the "Vertical" or psychic realm as to the "Horizontal" of physical dimension. I refer you back (always) to that Time-Life cone slicing example here. I've been having conversation with "Pink" alias Syd Barret lately, and I was going to relate them here, but this information will keep. What you need to know is that the Vertical doesn't really have anything to do with "Spiritual" verses "flesh" all that much. Strictly speaking "spirit" means "air" or perhaps "breath" in the Greek, and breathing is something a living physical person does. In my definition the words "Spirit" and "Soul" are interchangable. I know a lot of evangelists will say they are completely separate. Don't listen to them. "God" is really not the issue at all and even less so any notion of "religion". There is nothing "religious" about the psychic realm. Not one bit. The best way to think of it as here Time is seen as length and distance- - Space is seen as length and distance. Oh the Other Side- - or more properly the Vertical Plane- - - Time is seen as a moment in singularity- - and an opportunity, a step - - a means, a personal comodity you have. In like matter space is seen not in terms of geometry and distance so much as YOUR Space- - and how Much of it you Have and what your Space affords you in being able to accomplish. Just in terms of Abbey Road songs where John Lennon sings, they break down accordingly. Me and John wrote both "Come Together" and "The Balad of John and Yoco" together. Pink wrote "She's So Heavy", "Mean Mr. Mustard" and "Polytheme Pam". Now that I "think real hard" it was George who said of Polytheme Pam, "why don't you do it in that cockney accent of yours". I arranged the lead guitar part myself for "Polytheme" and "Bathroom Window". "Shirley" was changed to 'Pam" must to offer up lyrical continuity. I wrote "Sun King" and "Because" pretty much alone- - and "Because" was in a marijuana induced trance where I heard piano playing and scrambled up all the notes in my mind, and came up with a song, with Yoco Ono contributing some to the lyrical content. "She's So Heavy" was written by Pink and Paul when Paul was in the Bahamas doing the Help movie. (John Lennon did both the song and the movie "Help) Pink now says they intended it as a fade-out - - - but I told him to "think real hard - - back to the original recording session" and Pink finally said "We stopped kind of suddenly as if some event interrupted us and there was conversation about some distracting topic- - and we never really got back to it after that. As I recall this was around June 25th of 1965.
AND NOW FOR OUR ALL NEW AFV CATEGORY OF "STUFF I WASN'T GOING TO MENTION- BUT NOW I AM". Pink spent a lot of time talking about Denise D, not the Denise who filled my coffee cup a lot fuller than "normal" around here this morning, and also gave me an extra glass of orange juice for no particular reason. The tone of a lot of this stuff is like a parody of "She Loves You" under the category of "I'd like to hear all this first hand". Pink said Denise "learned a lot from living as Me and she only wishes she could have carried more of that wisdom into later aspects of her life. The funny thing about this is I've felt the same about her. But we can't be lovers because technically we are related. She is my second and a half cousin- - her great great grandmother is also my great grandmother - - one Emily Babb, who was born during the Civil War. There is a certain George Harrison song from his first solo album that "ticked me off" when I heard it (if you don't count the Wonder Wall album that came out before the Beatles broke up) and once I asked Mal Evans to ban its hearing throughout the Federation as a personal favor to me. He said "I would except Denise already beat you to it". As to what ticks both me and her off about this song can best be summer up by the lyrics to "Do you want to know a Secret" - - "Nobody knows - - just we two". Denise rejoined being "me" briefly in late fall of 1971 through January of 1972 and when I heard "Be My Lover" and "Baby Blue" I was rolling tape and thinking "Boy I was lucky to get two such good songs! It turns out Denise now claims every times she hears "Baby Blue" she thinks of Me - - and she bought the 45 with "Flying" on the other side. (later I heard this 45 because Jim Cooper has also bought it as a youth) But, though Pink didn't say it- - - we know what album "mysteriously turned up in the family record cabinet in virtual pristine condition". Oddly this was among the Final Four records that I was last to move from my parent's house, which didn't occur till Christmas 1977. The other three were "Kosmic Blues", which I gave back to Al, plus "No Dice" which I only bought because Becky Daniels recommended it but it turned out to be a dud, and 461 Ocean Blvd. by EC, and - - THIS album - - - with all the funny hieroglyphics on it. We've referred to it before, which was a major contributor to that famous "Soundtrack" for my proposed movie "Days in the Life of the Antichrist" (as in "Muah")
- - - OH - AND JUST ONE MORE THING - - - "I Know You're The Real Killer".
No, this isn't an episode of Matlock. I want to talk about the milk of human kindness a little more. They used to say (a saying of my Dad's) "If you wan't something Done, ask a Busy person". If you're looking for Generosity, go to the poor. Yesterday I was still low to non existant on cigarettes, when I went down to the west bench and Phyllis Green lent me a cigarette. Then Paul, who had lent me two earlier in the day, lent me two more to smoke later. There was banter among me and Loretta and Phyllis about the Bible verse talking about the virtues of making an Enemy into a Friend, and I said "There are probably a lot of verses in the Bible on that subject". Right now I owe Phyllis that one cigarette, and I owe Paul twelve, for his generosity over the past ten days or so. And speaking of Paul we Beatles fans owe him a thing or two for contributions to John songs. For instance Paul is responsable for the arrangement of Ticket to Ride, as well as the signiture lead guitar part in that song. And I once told you that if I had my way, "All Things Must Pass" would have turned out a hell of a lot more like 'Hey Jude" than it did. Well, Paul himself must have had "Hey Jude" on the brain because he contributed two key things to making "Come Together" come out the way it did. Me and John envisioned a much faster song. Paul slowed it down, and also came up with that all important piano part. John was so jealous of Paul's genious in this matter that he demanded to play the piano part himself when they did the official recording for the album, so he learned every note.
