Nancy Pelosi Gives Thumbs Down on Impeachment

Joel Olsteen's message last Sunday could have been called "The perils of premature success".  this is what took place with Barock Obama.  When you are advanced beyond your bretheren before your time this is what can happen.   I think Daylight Savings time is "premature" as you know.  We finally got sunshine at seven thirty in the dining room for the first time this week.  The media isn't "ready" for spring fashions yet.  It's still the dead of winter in most of the country.  Politically we are still in the "winter of our discontent".  I think we need "seasoned" politicians such as Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.  We need people who have been around the block a few times and can learn from the mistakes of others, and perhaps their own mistakes in the past.

There is a more detailed story on Paul Manifort than we’ve heard so far.  In the early days of Manifort’s indictment, Trump would distance himself from Manifort saying that he only worked on his campaign a few months so it really didn’t matter if he got in trouble because Trump wasn’t that close to him because he grew dissatisfied with Manifort’s tenure with the campaign.  But now that Manifort has shown acts of loyalty to Trump and is willing to cover up and lie for him and defend the president, then Trump will recripicate and pardon Manifort even though he only received a 47 month sentence for his crimes.  This week Manifort is up for more sentencing from a tougher judge.  Last week the guidelines were 19 to 24 years and he got less than four.  This time Manifort is up for ten years but from a tougher judge.  In another aid, Bill Shine has been moved from the administration to a “senior advisor” in the 20/20 presidential campaign.  Like the Beach Boy album.  Trump’s “vision” is anything other than 20/20,  Bill Shine got Trump’s attention because he was willing to cover up the crimes of Roger Ailes at FOX news.  For this President even a dirty deed indirectly for the conservative cause merits a reward from this President.  In terms of Trump’s 46 percent rating last week, this is a rigged poll because Trump has never been higher than the low forties and most often in the thirties.

At last we have some polling news on Bernie Sanders.  He is now polling second to Joe Biden, who hasn’t even gotten in the race.  Old Joe just waits forever to make a decision and he still hasn’t made a decision for sure.  My view is at this point Biden should stay out of the 2020 race and just work for a younger man.  Biden is eight years older than I am and not ten.  They are exagurating his age.  Joe is a moderate of course.   Sanders fought a “moderate” last time and the last thing Sanders needs now is another phantom who can’t win taking votes away from him.  It seems Sanders is raising more millions than he did last time and many of these donors are new donors.  Sanders has only been a candidate for a week or two but already he has caught fire and has momentum.  I think we Sanders people need to “rally round the flag” figuratively speaking and let Sanders know that he’s the one we have confidence in.  Elizabeth Warren’s campaign seems to have fizzled a bit.  She lost her list of supporters or something.  I have always thought of Elizabeth as a back-up candidate anyhow, in case something happens to Sanders

Nancy Pelosi has come out against impeaching President Trump;.  She says “He isn’t worth it” and I don’t know what she means by that.  In terms of “being divisive” we’ve heard that old song and dance before.   The best thing we can do to get rid of divisiveness is to get rid of our esteemed leader, who is the cause of so much of it.  The Republicans are already saying that we’re going to impeach the president so we might as well go ahead and do it.  At least the battle lines are drawn.  As we explained in a previous posting, we have to have impeachment to insure that the president is out of office for when he is indicted because people believe we can’t indict a sitting president.  Nancy is looking for “some really big event” to happen other than the “really big” events that have happened already,    Does a house have to fall on her or what?   It’s obvious to anybody the vast number of offences the president has committed.  Read our previous stuff.  President Trump has announced the 2020 federal budget and it’s familiar news.  We are increasing funding for the border wall to over eight billion.  We pay the price for it because education, the environmental protection agency and Medicare are all being cut so we can pay for the wall.  The deficit has gone from nineteen to 22 Trillion under President Trump so far.  If President Obama almost doubled the deficit, then President Reagan almost tripled the deficit and nobody seemed to care about that one bit.  It’s the Jude Wanisky two Santa Clause theory.  President Obama had a high deficit because he HAD to.  Trump WANTS to have a high deficit.  He said he was going to wipe out the national debt in eight years.  That isn’t going to happen.

We all know from yesterday’s episode of Days of our Lives that betrayal is a dirty rotten thing.  But does it make any difference why the betrayal took place.  From a psychological point of view it does.  One Jesus movie had Judas being isolated and pressured by the Roman officials to betray Jesus implying that it would happen sooner or later and he was already in trouble.  This indicates weakness but is not as dastardly as other forms of betrayal.  Judas could have betrayed Jesus to test him, to see if he were really the Messiah and to get him to use his powers to deliver himself.  The problem here is Judas would not have committed suicide by hanging himself unless he had waited the three days to see if Jesus had resurrected from the grave like he was telling everybody he would.  According to some movies even the Jewish authorities were half looking for a resurrection.  Judas wouldn’t have offed himself before that had a chance to happen.  Then there is my belief that Judas betrayed Jesus over doctrine and not money.  Judas wanted to end this shadow “kingdom of heaven” stuff that was threatening the Roman and Jewish establishments and particularly threatening the Jewish priestly system of religion.  This is what Judas wanted to preserve and he would have done it for nothing and not paid any money.  This isn’t how he ticked.  He saw an enemy and sought to neutralize this “enemy”.    People who betray are looking for glory in one form or another.   Jack Deveroux, Eve Donavin and Claire Brady were all looking for some sort of glory and you have to be alive for that.  Judas wasn’t after money or he wouldn’t have joined the ministry of a poor man and stayed with him for three years hearing endless messages on mercy and generosity.  I think Jesus played the “daddy’ card with Pilate.  The authorities suspected Jesus was born of fornication, perhaps with a Roman centurian named Pantera.   Jesus never said anything bad about the Romans his whole ministry.  I think Jesus wanted to visit the land of his father, in this case- - Rome.  And if Judas ended up dead, it’s my firm belief that it was not at his own hand.

(type Sunday) Every time I think of writing something on Christianity something stops me.  I’ve been holding off on ideas I’ve had for the past week.  That “God Friended Me” show features the lead character becoming more and more religious and devout and thinking like just another Christian.  When you think about it, the gospels need some sort of “introduction” to properly “frame” the Jesus Story.  Mark is the only gospel that lacks one.  Otherwise you have just this guy that hung around he Lake of Galilee and teaching and making disciples and pulling off a bunch of miracles.   You need that identity of being a “Son of David” and born in Bethlehem and of the tribe of Judah as foretold in scripture.  Of course you need King Hered to slaughter off all of Jesus’ potential competition to hold the position of Messiah.  In scripture therefore “Messiah” is more than a title than as someone who actually delivers Israel from their oppression.  Since Jesus never delivered Israel from oppression, the Jews never accepted him.
